DANTEWADA BLOODPATH: 76 CRPF JAWANS MASSACRED IN DEADLY NAXAL AMBUSH
Single Deadliest Maoist Attack on Security Forces; Intelligence & Tactical Support Absent
On the morning of 6 April 2010, over 300 Maoist insurgents ambushed a CRPF company of 82 personnel returning from an area domination patrol in Tadmetla, Dantewada.
76 brave jawans were slaughtered as landmine blasts and coordinated machine gun fire pinned them down in dense forests without aerial evacuation or reinforcement.
Despite the carnage, political infighting erupted within the ruling Congress party, with General Secretary Digvijaya Singh publicly mocking Home Minister P. Chidambaram as "narrow-minded" in newspaper op-eds instead of presenting a unified national resolve.
