Indian Mujahideen Strikes Crowded Bus Stop & Tiffin Center; Central Intelligence Warnings Unheeded
On the evening of 21 February 2013, two powerful IEDs strapped to bicycles exploded within 150 meters and 12 seconds of each other at a crowded bus stop outside Venkatadri Theatre and 107 Mirchi Centre in Dilsukhnagar.
18 innocent commuters were killed and over 130 suffered severed limbs and shrapnel trauma.
It emerged that the Home Ministry had received specific intelligence warnings two days prior regarding an imminent strike in Hyderabad, yet state and central authorities failed to deploy bomb detection squads or intensify surveillance.
