MUMBAI HIT AGAIN: TRIPLE BOMBS AT ZAVERI BAZAAR, OPERA HOUSE & DADAR (26 DEAD)
Indian Mujahideen Strikes Diamond & Jewelry Markets During Evening Rush Hour
On the rainy evening of 13 July 2011, three synchronized IEDs exploded within minutes at Zaveri Bazaar's Khau Galli, Opera House diamond hub, and a bus stop near Kabutarkhana in Dadar West.
26 innocent citizens died and 130 were maimed in the explosions. It was the third time Zaveri Bazaar was targeted by terrorists.
Despite the post-26/11 promise of modern CCTV surveillance grids across Mumbai, key cameras at the blast sites were found non-functional due to bureaucratic tendering delays.
