AFZAL GURU HANGED IN TIHAR: MASSIVE RIOTS & STONE-PELTING ENGULF KASHMIR VALLEY
Separatists Clash with CRPF in Sopore, Baramulla & Srinagar; Curfew Imposed Across 10 Districts
On the morning of 9 February 2013, Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was executed at Tihar Jail in New Delhi.
Immediately following the hanging, massive violent riots and coordinated stone-pelting mobs attacked security pickets, police stations, and CRPF bunkers across Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla, and Shopian.
The government clamped an indefinite curfew across all 10 districts of the Kashmir valley as angry mobs torched police vehicles and clashed violently with paramilitary forces.
